Three Streams of Faith

Sacred

Dynamic

Cohesive

At Good Samaritan we follow Christian practices taught in Scripture and practiced by the Church through history. We call these the “Three Streams of Faith.” Together they form one river; without any one stream the river loses the accountability, balance, and strength needed for a disciplined, lasting life in Jesus.

A priest in green vestments performs a ritual in front of a wooden cross with a circular design, holding a round object above his head. Two altar servers or assistants in white robes are on either side, with lit candles and flowers nearby.

Sacred

As inheritors of the Sacred tradition we worship using time tested prayers, the sacraments, and the authority of the church hierarchy. We value the use of symbols, icons, and ritual as ways of connecting with God and deepening our faith.

As Anglicans we worship in concert with the worldwide Anglican communion in our daily use of the Book of Common Prayer and the regular celebration of the Eucharist.

Dynamic

As recipients of the Dynamic Faith we emphasize the personal experience of the Holy Spirit in striving for spiritual gifts such as healing, prophecy, and miracles.

We practice extemporaneous prayer, contemporary and traditional worship music, and a sense of excitement and joy in our gatherings. We give every person the opportunity for an individual encounter with Jesus through personal prayer, and the laying on of hands.

Cohesive

We share in a Cohesive Faith by practicing the Scriptures, sharing the Gospel, and serving others as the hands and feet of Jesus.

We value applicable preaching, weekly Bible study, and outreach to those who are developing faith. Our family of faith walks in the feet of the apostles as we continue the call to connect the Gospel to our community.
