Children's Ministry Director

ABOUT OUR PARISH Good Samaritan is a Sacred, Dynamic, and Cohesive community dedicated to worship, discipleship, and fellowship. Our worship services integrate Anglican liturgy with hymns and contemporary music, encouraging a practice of worship that is ancient and modern. We seek an engaging Children's Ministry Director to lead our efforts in faith formation for our youngest members.

ROLE SUMMARY The Children's Ministry Director will work 10-15 hours per week to oversee and lead the church's programs for children from birth to 5th grade, focusing on faith formation and creating a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment. This role requires a collaborative spirit, a love for children, and the ability to recruit, equip, and empower volunteer leaders.

Responsibilities

Faith Formation & Program Development:

  • Plan, develop, and implement engaging and age-appropriate children's ministry programs for Sunday services, Wednesday nights, and special events.

  • Curate curriculum and resources that align with Anglican traditions and foster spiritual growth.

  • Create a nurturing and fun environment where children can learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

Volunteer Recruitment & Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and equip a team of dedicated volunteer leaders for various children's ministry roles.

  • Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and spiritual formation for volunteers.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment among children's ministry leaders.

Administrative & Collaborative Duties:

  • Arrive and set up formation space for Sunday mornings to prepare for programming for students.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures for children's programs.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding ministry activities and children's spiritual development.

  • Collaborate with the Rector and other church staff to integrate children's ministry into the broader life of the church.

  • Attend weekly staff meetings.

Candidate Profile

A Disciple of Jesus: Demonstrates a personal faith grounded in Jesus Christ, aligned with the mission and values of Good Samaritan Anglican Church.

A Servant-Leader: Possesses a collaborative, adaptable, and positive attitude with strong communication and organizational skills.

Passionate about Children's Ministry: Has a genuine love for children and a desire to see them grow in their faith.

Experienced: Previous experience in children's ministry leadership, teaching, or program coordination is highly beneficial.

Organized and Proactive: Able to manage multiple tasks, plan ahead, and take initiative.
